Tim Smith, a native of Columbiana, Alabama, graduated from Shelby County High School in 1982. While in high school, Tim played football and baseball. His love of sports began at a very young age.

Tim began his career coaching little league and then coached football for Shelby County High School.  Tim served as the Athletic Director for 18 years at Cornerstone Christian School before becoming the Headmaster in 2016. He led the school in numerous state championships and under his leadership built an entire athletic program from the ground up.

In addition, Tim has served on the State Athletic Committee for seven years. Tim was named Alabama Baseball Association Coach of the Year 2012. Also, Tim earned the Shelby County Reporter Coach of the year in 2005 for basketball and 2012 for baseball. Tim was selected to be in the 2015 AISA Hall of Fame.

In 2017 God called Tim to join the Evangel family as the Athletic Director. Tim has enjoyed coaching football and baseball at Evangel and leading young men and women in the ways of the Lord through sports. Under his leadership, Tim has won 2 football State Championships and 1 Football National Championship while at Evangel.

Tim and his wife Angie have been married 34 years. They have two children: Heath Smith (married to Patti) and Aubri McClendon (married to Ryne). They have five amazing grandchildren, Gunner, Presley Scout, Colton and Hatti Mae, who they love to spend time with. Tim's off time is spent with family, friends, and cheering on his beloved Auburn Tigers. Tim and his wife Angie are members of Church of the Highlands the Alabaster Campus.

Tim looks forward to many more victories for the Evangel Lightening and watching all the things the Lord is doing and is going to do for their program.
